Blog Action Day: Unite with the International Blogosphere on October 15
On Wednesday October 15 at 6:30 p.m., we the Social Media Exchange are joining the global conversation about poverty from Rootspace. We’re testing the impact of simultaneously blogging during this day on a single topic—poverty– together with thousands of bloggers from around the world.
Poverty is not only a pressing issue, it is a complex one. It’s easy to think that there isn’t much an individual can do. Fortunately this isn’t the case at all. With activities ranging from advocacy and professional contribution to charity and financing, there is in fact many ways that we can act.
The purpose of Blog Action Day is to create a discussion where bloggers take a single day out of their schedule and focus it on this important issue.
In 2007 on the theme of the Environment, bloggers ran environmental experiments, detailing innovative ideas on creating sustainable practices and focusing audience’s attentions on organizations and companies promoting green agendas. In 2008 the aim is to again focus the blogging community’s energies and passions, this time on the issue of global poverty.
You can find out who’s participating on this day by clicking here, so far, 5913 sites have registered.
You can either write from home or join us at Rootspace for idea and resource sharing. Just make sure to register your blog online on blogactionday.org. To reserve a seat, contact us via mobile on 03-792505 or via e-mail, mohamad.najem@gmail.com and check our Facebook event invitation for more details.
